Volleyball team swept in three by #1 Calvin
The Calvin College volleyball team proved why it’s the No. 1 ranked team in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, as the Knights swept Olivet College in three sets (25-15, 25-9, 25-14) tonight at the Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids.
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin College volleyball team proved why it's the No. 1 ranked team in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll, as the Knights swept Olivet College in three sets (25-15, 25-9, 25-14) tonight at the Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids.
Freshman middle hitter Emma Brann (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) led the Comets with six kills, followed by senior Jordy Bergeron (Muskegon/Mona Shores) and sophomore Tina Westendorp (Nashville/Maple Valley) with four apiece.
Senior Lacee Boone (Otsego) and freshman Taylor Pringle (Haslett) each collected seven assists. Bergeron and Westendorp shared team-high honors with five digs apiece.
Olivet will play its final three regular season matches next week. On Wednesday night, the Comets host Alma at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, they travel to play Trine at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, they host Hope at 6 p.m.
