Over the last 11 years, McMullen has helped build the Comets into a solid program. In 2004, Olivet won six matches. In 2005, McMullen's Comets bettered the 2004 win total by three with nine victories. In addition, Olivet had a player earn All-MIAA honors for the first time in school history. In 2006, the Comets won eight matches. In 2007, Olivet won a school-record 10 matches. Under her tutelage, Rachel Vilums became a three-time All-MIAA player. In 2009, the Comets tied their school record with 10 wins. In 2010, Olivet posted a 9-8 record for the first winning season in school history.
McMullen earned a bachelor's degree in sociology and anthropology from Olivet in 2001. While a student, she was a member of the golf and tennis teams.
