Olivet College’s LaValley earns All-MIAA women’s tennis honors
Olivet College junior Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek) has earned 2012 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors for women’s tennis.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek) has earned 2012 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) second-team honors for women's tennis.
LaValley, now a three-time All-MIAA second-team selection, had a 4-9 record at the No. 1 singles position for the Comets. Two of her wins were against MIAA opponents. She also teamed with senior Kelsey Singer (Brooklyn/Columbia Central) for 5-8 record at the No. 1 doubles flight. They defeated two MIAA doubles teams.
LaValley is only the second women's tennis player in school history to be a three-time All-MIAA honoree. The other was Rachel Vilums, who also earned three All-MIAA second-team honors from 2005-07.
