ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was shutout by Alma College, 4-0, today at Scotland Yard in Alma.
The Scots scored their first goal off a corner kick only one minute, four seconds into the game. They added to their lead with a goal in the 26th minute. The score stayed 2-0 until the 54th minute when Agatha Weddle scored her second goal of the game. The Scots capped the scoring in the 85th minute.
The Comets were limited to three shots, all of which were placed on goal. Freshmen Emily Chrzacz (Livonia/Stevenson) and Ana Gomez (Rochester Hills/Notre Dame Prep) along with junior Lindsey Winters (Plymouth/Canton) each had one shot. Freshman Deanna Zolnoski (Macomb/Henry Ford II) made 13 saves, while facing 29 shots in goal.
Olivet will wrap-up its week with a noon game Saturday at home against Hope College. The game is part of a soccer doubleheader in Olivet, as the Comet men will play Albion College after the women's game at approximately 2:30 p.m.
