Women’s golf team is 13th at IWU Fall Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team was tied for 15th-place after Saturday’s first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. The Comets lowered their team score by nine strokes in today’s second round to move up two spots in the team standings to finish in 13th-place out of 26 teams.
NORMAL, Ill. – The Olivet College women's golf team was tied for 15th-place after Saturday's first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. The Comets lowered their team score by nine strokes in today's second round to move up two spots in the team standings to finish in 13th-place out of 26 teams.
Olivet posted a 36-hole score of 673 total strokes. Washington (Mo.) University captured the team title with a 617 (300-317). Hannah Buck from Washington was the tournament medalist with a 148 (69-79).
Senior Lauren Campbell (Fenton) tied for 19th-place in the player standings with a 161 (80-81). Today, sophomore Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) scored a season-best 79 in today's round to finish with a two-round total of 166 strokes. Sophomore Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) completed her two rounds in 168 (83-85) strokes.
Freshman Jennifer Myers (Palos Hills, Ill./Stagg) shot a career-best 87 for a two-round total of 179 strokes. Sophomore Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) recorded a two-round total of 181 (91-90) strokes.
Olivet will play in the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play jamboree Wednesday afternoon at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.
