Women’s golf team tied for 15th after first round of IWU Fall Classic
The Olivet College women’s golf team is tied for 15th-place after the first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. Tomorrow’s second round has a 9 a.m. CT shotgun start.
NORMAL, Ill. – The Olivet College women's golf team is tied for 15th-place after the first round of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. Tomorrow's second round has a 9 a.m. CT shotgun start.
The Comets posted a 341 team score to sit in a tie with Truman State (Mo.) University and University of Wis.-Platteville. Washington (Mo.) University leads the 26-team field with a 300, including a three-under 69 from Hannah Buck. Olivet is only nine strokes behind seventh-place Illinois Wesleyan and Marian (Ind.) University.
Senior Lauren Campbell (Fenton) leads the Comets with an 80. Sophomore Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) is three strokes behind at 83. Sophomore Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) carded an 87. Freshman Jennifer Myers (Palos Hills, Ill./Stagg) and sophomore Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) both finished with a 91.
After tomorrow's round, Olivet resumes Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play next Wednesday, Sept. 21, with the second league jamboree at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.
