Women’s golf team finishes in third-place at MIAA Jamboree #1
The women’s golf team finished in third-place at the first MIAA Jamboree today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women's golf team finished in third-place at the first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree today at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
The Comets recorded a 345 team score, which was just three strokes behind second-place and defending MIAA champion Saint Mary's (Ind.), but 20 strokes behind first-place Hope. The rest of the team scores were Calvin 348, the host Thunder 357, Adrian 367, Alma 380, Albion 392 and Kalamazoo 405.
Senior Lauren Campbell (Fenton) tied for third in the player standings with an 81. Sophomore Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) was part of a three-way tie for sixth with an 82. Sophomore Ashley Stark (Grass Lake) shot a 90, followed by sophomore Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) at 92. Freshman Jennifer Myers (Palos Hills, Ill./Stagg) rounded out the lineup with a 95. Freshman Megahn Piper (Parma/Western) was an individual scorer and carded a 96.
Olivet now take a break from MIAA play this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17-18, when it plays in the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Invitational at the Ironwood Golf Course. Action each day gets underway with a 9 a.m. CT shotgun start. The next league jamboree is Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Hope's home course, the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck.
