Campbell named MIAA Player of the Week for women’s basketball
Olivet College sophomore Kelsey Campbell has been named the MIAA Player of the Week for women’s basketball.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Kelsey Campbell (Olivet/Olivet) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Player of the Week for women's basketball.
Campbell scored 35 points, dished out 13 assists, grabbed 10 rebounds and made eight steals, as the Comets won two MIAA games last week. In an 80-67 win at Alma College Jan. 18, she had 14 points, eight assists and three steals. While playing the entire game in a 59-54 win over Trine (Ind.) University, Campbell scored a career-high 21 points to go along with six rebounds, five assists and five steals. For the week, she made 11-of-23 baskets, including five 3-pointers, and 8-of-10 free throws.
For the season, Campbell leads the team in scoring at 9.4 points per game. She leads the MIAA with 107 assists and ranks fifth in steals (35) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.39).
Olivet returns to action Saturday when it welcomes Kalamazoo College to The Cutler Event Center for a 1 p.m. game.
