Jackson named MIAA Athlete of the Week in swimming/diving
Olivet College junior Brock Jackson has been named the MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for men’s swimming and diving.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Brock Jackson (Sturgis) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Athlete of the Week honors for men's swimming and diving.
Jackson won the 100 (:47.59) and 200 freestyle (1:46.53) and swam on two winning relays (200 and 400 freestyle), as the Comets swept a triple dual meet with Albion, Carthage (Wis.) and Hope colleges Oct. 28-29 at Lakeview High School in Battle Creek. He also finished in second-place in the 200 individual medley (1:59.01), losing to the Carthage swimmer by 16 one-hundredths of a second, and tied for third in the 50 freestyle (:21.95).
Olivet will be back in the pool Friday, Nov. 11, for a non-conference dual meet against Ohio Northern University at Hillsdale College. The next day, Nov. 12, the Comets will compete against Albion in a MIAA dual.
