Men’s golf team places fourth, maintains fourth in MIAA Playoff

WEST OLIVE, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team placed fourth today at the second Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) playoff round today at the Wuskowhan Players Club in West Olive. The finish allows the Comets to maintain fourth-place in the overall standings. The third and final round will be played at Wuskowhan tomorrow, starting at 9 a.m.

In today's round, Olivet recorded a 319 team score. Playing on its home course, Hope College shot a 290, followed by Trine (Ind.) University, 300; and Alma College, 310. The overall standings have Hope leading Trine by 25 strokes, 574-599. Alma is third at 601, and the Comets are fourth at 628.

Juniors Ronnie Fesko (Henderson/Owosso) and Nick Julian (Clinton Township/Chippewa Valley) had identical scores on the front (40) and back (37) nines for 77s. Junior Justin Ardelean (Owosso) was two strokes behind at 79. Sophomore Martin Holdren (New Bremen, Ohio) carded an 86, while senior Cameron Sich (Saginaw/Frankenmuth) finished with an 87.
