Olivet College’s Young named MIAA Position Player of the Week for baseball
Olivet College senior Randy Young (Wixom/Walled Lake Western) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Player of the Week for baseball.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Randy Young (Wixom/Walled Lake Western) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Player of the Week for baseball.
Young had a .368 batting average (7-for-19), scored five runs and collected four RBI in five games last week. He also did commit an error in 22 chances from his shortstop position in the infield. Young went 3-for-4 in Olivet's 9-6 non-conference win over Aquinas College. He is being honored for the first time in his career. For the season, Young is hitting .333 and leads the team with 24 runs scored and eight doubles.
The Comets are back in action Thursday night when they play a 7 p.m. game at Davenport University.
