Olivet College’s Brawley named to 2012 All-MIAA baseball team
Olivet College junior Andrew Brawley has been named to the 2012 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) baseball second-team.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Andrew Brawley (Niles) has been named to the 2012 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) baseball second-team. All-league honors are based on a player's statistics during the 28-game MIAA schedule.
Despite missing the last 12 games of the season with an injury, Brawley led the Comets with a .333 batting average. He had 16 hits to go along with five runs scored, five doubles, seven RBI, 21 total bases, .438 slugging percentage and .418 on-base percentage. Brawley made three appearances on the mound and did not allow an earned run in three innings. In 16 games, he committed only one error in 107 chances for a .991 fielding percentage.
For the entire season, Brawley started 26 games and topped the team with a .329 batting averge. His other statistics included 13 runs scored, seven doubles and 14 RBI. On the mound, Brawley threw 10 innings and recorded one save.
Under the tutelage of sixth-year Head Coach Ted Mahan, the Comets posted a 12-28 overall record and tied for sixth in the MIAA standings with a 9-19 record.
