ALMA, Mich. -- The Olivet College volleyball team was swept by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Alma College in straight sets tonight at the Art Smith Arena in Alma. The Scots won by scores of 25-12, 25-11 and 25-13.
Junior Jordy Bergeron (Muskegon/Mona Shores) led Olivet with seven kills, followed by sophomores Melanie Merchant (St. Joseph) and Sam Gibson (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) with six and five, respectively. Freshman Kaitlyn Salhaney (Caledonia/East Kentwood) recorded 13 set assists. Junior Mallory Schug (Climax/Galesburg Augusta) topped the team with 19 digs.
Olivet is idle until next Tuesday, Oct. 5, when it hosts Adrian College at 6:30 p.m.
