One UOlivet Record Falls, Five More Top 10 Marks Achieved at Calvin Knight Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Olivet track and field teams headed to Grand Rapids for the Calvin University Knight Invite on Saturday, April 18.
FOR THE MEN
Sophomore Alexander Brown broke the school outdoor record in the pole vault, clearing a height of 15 feet, 4-1/2 inches.
Sophomore Yrral Campbell won the open section of the hammer throw and set a personal best at 171 feet, 9 inches, which moved him up to second in the UOlivet record book.
Junior Owen Fremeau took first in the shot put (57 feet, 3 inches) and finished second in the invite section of the hammer throw (188 feet, 7 inches).
Freshman Elijah Cottrell was third in the hammer throw and threw a personal best (131 feet, 1 inch), which is 10th all-time at Olivet. Cottrell also threw a personal best in the shot put (37 feet, 11-1/4 inches).
Freshmen Drew Wojciechowski, Dom Monroe and Alexander Crabtree each achieved personal bests in the hammer throw at 124 feet, 11 inches; 110 feet, 11 inches; and 103 feet, 8 inches, respectively.
Sophomore Jadyn Brown posted a personal best in the javelin throw (124 feet, 7 inches) and high jump (5 feet, 11 1/5 inches).
Junior Luke Leighton and sophomore Tye Kirschner finished second and fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (59.39) and (1:00.53). Junior Sam Bruinsma ran a personal best in the 5,000-meter run (17:18.78).
FOR THE WOMEN
Sophomore Kenzie Gray finished fourth in the discus throw with a personal best mark at 120 feet, 8 inches, which is sixth all-time at UOlivet. Gray also threw a personal best in the hammer at 120 feet, 9 inches, which places her 10th all-time.
Freshmen Zoe Watson and Allison Stauffer each achieved personal bests in the hammer throw at 97 feet, 2 inches and 77 feet, 1 inch, respectively. Stauffer also posted a personal best in the shot put (23 feet, 7-1/4 inches).
Sophomore Aurali Garcia and junior Joey Wilson each cleared 4 feet, 10-1/2 inches in the high jump. The mark has them tied for seventh all-time.
Junior Aubrey Connelly was second in the javelin (98 feet, 1 inch).
Freshmen Avery Lopez and Cassie Bill each ran personal bests in the 1,500 meter run at 5:55.16 and 6:03.62, respectively.
UP NEXT
Junior Ellie Baynes and freshman Peyton Tennant will compete in the heptathlon as part of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Combined Events at Hope College on Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21. The rest of the team will be at the Hillsdale Tune-Up Friday and Saturday, April 24-25.
