Cross country teams run at Wis.-Oshkosh Invitational
The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ran today at the 2013 University of Wis.-Oshkosh-Brooks Invitational, which was held at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. The men's team placed 32nd, while the women were 37th.
WINNECONNE, Wis. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams ran today at the 2013 University of Wis.-Oshkosh-Brooks Invitational, which was held at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne, Wis. The men's team placed 32nd, while the women were 37th.
Leading the way for the men was sophomore Greg Lutzke (Williamston), who covered the 8K course in 26:52. Junior Andrew Benkovsky (Eaton Rapids) finished in 27:55, followed by freshman Blake Wilson (Battle Creek/Lakeview) and junior Jalen Weaver (Albion) at 28:19 and 28:34, respectively.
Sophomore Brittany Hayes (Battle Creek/Lakeview) ran the fastest time for the women's team with a personal-best time of 25:50 on the 6K course. Freshman Jacklyn Yates (Fowlerville/Hesperia) had a life-time best time of 26:47. Senior Rachael Wagner (Clinton Twp./Fraser) completed the race in 27:54. Sophomore Danielle Marsh (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) and freshman Raelyn Rasegan (Webberville/Williamston) both achieved person-best times at 28:09 and 28:11, respectively.
The Comets are now off until Saturday, Nov. 2, when they compete at the 2013 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships. Hope College is the host school.
