Olivet College cross country teams open season with home meet
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams are opening the 2012 season Friday, Aug. 31, by hosting Trine (Ind.) University for a dual meet at the Olivet Golf Club.
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams are opening the 2012 season Friday, Aug. 31, by hosting Trine (Ind.) University for a dual meet at the Olivet Golf Club.
Both men and women will run a 5K race over the rolling golf course. The men will run their race first, starting at 6 p.m., followed by the women's race at 6:30 p.m.
"We are very excited to start the season with a home meet, we do not always have an opportunity for a home event every year," said Olivet Head Men's Cross Country Coach Jeff Kavalunas. "The meet will be competitive, but also low key for their first race of the season, giving us an opportunity to see where each runner is at coming off of the summer training."
