Women’s cross country team runs at Defiance Duals

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Olivet College women's cross country team ran today at the Defiance (Ohio) College Duals.

Freshman Hayley Drummond (Williamston) was the first finisher for the Comets, as she completed the 5K race in a season-best time of 24:02. Senior Brittany Marshall (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) finished the race in 24:43, followed by freshman Lane Duckworth (Bellevue) in 24:44, senior Courtney Osborn (Dorr/Wayland Union) in 25:25, senior Carly Olson-Guggemos (DeWitt/Homeschooled) in 26:01 and senior Crystal Ramon (Marshall) in 26:27.

"I am pleased with the improvement we made in the last week," said Olivet Head Coach Karen Lutzke. "We now have two weeks of training before our first 6K of the season."

The Comets are now off until Saturday, Sept. 24, when they compete at the 2011 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree, which will be at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
