Cross country teams run at 2009 MIAA Championships
The Olivet College cross country teams ran this morning at the 2009 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships. Adrian College hosted the championships at the Lenawee Christian High School in Adrian. Calvin College successfully defended its men’s and women’s championship with perfect 15 team scores for both.

The Olivet men were led by junior Jordan Dornan (Bangor), who finished the 8K race in 29:00.1. The rest of the Comets were freshman Brock Hubbard (Battle Creek/Harper Creek), 32.26.3; junior Serafin Llerena (Bangor), 33:10.6; sophomore Alex Johnson (Atlantic Mine/Houghton), 33:20.6; and freshman Brandon Vaughn (Charlotte/Maple Valley), 33:35.8.
Sophomore Brittany Marshall (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) was the top finisher for the Olivet women, as she completed the 6K race in 27:28.8. Freshman Autumn Williams (Albion/Marshall) finished in 30:19.0, followed by senior Christine Cameron (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) in 34:23.5.
The Comets will next compete at the 2009 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Nov. 14 at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terra Haute, Indiana.
