Cross country teams open season at Hope Vanderbilt Invitational
The Olivet College cross country teams opened their seasons by participating today in the Hope College Vanderbilt Invitational. Hope hosted the meet at the Ridge Point Church.
The Olivet College cross country teams opened their seasons by participating today in the Hope College Vanderbilt Invitational. Hope hosted the meet at the Ridge Point Church.
Leading the way for the Comet men was Jordan Dornan, who completed the race in 28:26. Following him was freshman Brock Hubbard (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) in 31:52; junior Serafin Llerena (Bangor) in 32:25; and sophomore Tom Sobleskey (Olivet) in 33:17.
Sophomore Brittany Marshall (Canton, Ga./Woodstock) led the Olivet women, as she finished the race in 23:03. Junior Katie Yahrmarkt (Sparta) was next in 25:34, followed by freshman Autumn Williams (Albion/Marshall) in 25:30; freshman Kayla Green (Mason) in 27:12; and senior Christine Cameron (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) in 27:43.
Olivet returns to action in two weeks, Sept. 19, when it competes at the Calvin College Invitational. The women's 5K race will start at 10 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 10:45 a.m.
