Cross country teams compete at 2007 Michigan Intercollegiate Meet

The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams competed today at the 2007 Michigan Intercollegiate Meet, which was hosted by Oakland University at the Katke-Cousins Golf Course. The meet featured most of the NCAA Division I, II and III schools along with NAIA and community college cross country programs in the state of Michigan.

The men's team ran in the 4K race. Daniel Slocum (Potterville) crossed the finish line first for Olivet in 14:43.5. Matt Swain (Union City) was next in 14:48.2, followed by Thomas Giles (Gobles), 14:57.2; Serafin Llerena (Bangor), 15:49.5; Josh Osborne (Mancelona), 16:33.5; Alex Braner (Belmond, Iowa/Marshall), 18:02.2; and Wyatt Hardy (Detroit), 25:05.1.

The women's team also ran a 4K race, and Alisha Fisher (Battle Creek/Lakeview) led the way in 18:56.4. Anna Braner (Belmond, Iowa/Marshall) finished the race in 18:57.6, followed by Kacie Rosecrants (Parma/Western), 18:59.3; Jessica Woods (Climax/Climax-Scotts), 20:31.5; Amy Johnson (Gaylord), 20:35.3; and Christine Cameron (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), 21:38.3.

Olivet is back in action next Friday, Oct. 12, when it participates in the Alma College Invitational.
