Four women’s volleyball players from The University of Olivet named to CSC Academic All-District® team
OLIVET, Mich. – Jaydn Cary, Ashylnn Giannunzio, Julia Hall and Violet Porter from The University of Olivet women's volleyball team have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team, the organization announced today. Cary is earning this honor for a third straight year, Porter for a second straight year, and Giannunzio and Hall are being honored for the first time.
To be eligible to earn Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must have a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and have significant athletic credentials. The student-athlete must have also competed in 90 percent of their school's matches or started in 66 percent of the team's matches. In addition, nomination limits per institution are in place for each sport in which CSC sponsors an Academic All-District® team. For volleyball, each school can nominate up to four student-athletes.
JADYN CARY
Cary started all 27 matches and 95 sets this season at the libero position. She recorded a team-best 454 digs and was third with 24 service aces. Cary also recorded 58 set assists. She ended her career with 1,335 digs to rank third all-time in UOlivet history.
ASHLYNN GIANNUNZIO
Giannunzio also appeared in all 95 sets this season at defensive specialist. She finished the year behind Cary in digs with 301 but ahead of her in service aces with 28.
JULIA HALL
Hall played in 27 matches and 94 sets at the middle hitter position. She led the team with the fifth-best attack percentage in UOlivet history at .249. Hall also topped the team with 21 solo blocks, 51 assisted blocks and 72 total blocks, and was second with 208 kills. She will begin her senior season with 387 kills and 145 blocks (42 solo and 103 assisted).
VIOLET PORTER
Porter saw action in all 27 matches and appeared in 92 sets at the other middle hitter position. She had 133 kills,.138 attack percentage, eight solo blocks, 33 assisted blocks and 41 total blocks. Porter finished her UOlivet career with 429 kills and ninth-best hitting percentage (.161).
