OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior middle hitter Emma Brann (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) has earned 2013 second-team All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) honors for volleyball. This honor was based on her performance during the Comets' 16-match league schedule.
Brann ranked fourth in the MIAA in total kills (200) and fifth in kills per game (3.08). She had a .248 hitting percentage with 73 errors on 513 attempts. Brann is the first Olivet volleyball player to earn All-MIAA honors since 2004 when Katie Schaum was also a second-team pick. Overall, she is only the fifth volleyball player in school history to earn All-league honors.
Brann and the Comets finished the season with a 9-20 overall record and were seventh in the MIAA with a 6-10 mark. Olivet was only two matches behind third-place Saint Mary's (Ind.) College and Trine (Ind.) University in the final league standings.
