Volleyball team ends season with two non-conference losses
The Olivet College volleyball team concluded its 2013 season by losing two non-conference matches today at Oberlin (Ohio) College. The Comets opened the day with a three-set loss to Denison (Ohio) University and then lost in five sets to the host Yeowomen.

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Olivet College volleyball team concluded its 2013 season by losing two non-conference matches today at Oberlin (Ohio) College. The Comets opened the day with a three-set loss to Denison (Ohio) University and then lost in five sets to the host Yeowomen.
Denison won by scores of 29-27, 25-16 and 25-23. Junior Emma Brann (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) led the way for Olivet with 11 kills and four blocks. Sophomore Marissa Guile (Williamston) and senior Tina Westendorp (Nashville/Maple Valley) each had six kills. Senior Stefanie Lang (Valparaiso, Ind.) finished with five kills and four blocks.
Junior Taylor Pringle (Haslett) collected 16 set assists to go along with two service aces. Junior Megan VanderVlucht (McBain) recorded a team-leading 16 digs. Westendorp had nine digs.
Oberlin won by scores of 18-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-14 and 15-13. Lang pounded down a team-high 14 kills, followed by Brann with 12. Pringle added 23 set assists, while Westendorp was one of the three players to record double digit digs with 17.
