Olivet College’s Brann named MIAA Position Player of the Week for volleyball
Olivet College junior Emma Brann (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Player of the Week for women's volleyball.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Emma Brann (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Player of the Week for women's volleyball.
Brann played a large role in leading the Comets to a 3-2 win over Alma College Sept. 25 at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet. She ended the match with a career-high 21 kills in the five-set victory and hit .386 on the night. In addition to her offensive game at the net, Brann also added eight digs, a block assist and two service aces. She is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
"Emma consistently puts up good numbers and it is great to see her get recognition for her contributions," said Olivet Head Coach Megan Merchant. "Overall, this was a huge win for the program and I could not have been more proud of how well the team played as a whole."
Brann and the Comets continue Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play Friday with a 6:30 p.m. match against Trine (Ind.) University.
