OLIVET, Mich. – Michelle Lang has been named an assistant volleyball coach at Olivet College, according to an announcement by Head Volleyball Coach Lynnette Moster.
Lang played four years of volleyball at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). She was the starting setter for the Hokies and the team captain in 2009. Lang also has playing experience with the Dunes Volleyball Club team in Michigan City, Ind.
"Michelle is exactly what I have been searching for in an assistant coach," said Moster. "Her high level of training as a setter will help immediately in the gym as we have four quality setters on our roster this season. Her leadership as a team captain for the Hokies will be great for the Comets to look up to as well."
Lang has also served as a camp coach at Virginia Tech, University of Notre Dame and Crown Point High School. She has also done community service projects, including co-captaining a Relay for Life team.
Originally from Valparaiso, Ind., Lang completed a bachelor's degree in international studies from Virginia Tech in 2010. She is taking online classes to finish a bachelor's degree in psychology this fall.
