The Olivet College volleyball team was defeated by Alma College 30-12, 30-9, 30-12, tonight in the first round of the 2003 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tournament.
Junior outside hitter Jamie Hutchison (Freeland High School) led the Lady Comet front row with seven kills. She was followed by freshman middle hitter Shannon Hall (Taylor/Truman High School) with four. Freshmen Sarah Geasler (Laingsburg High School) and Krystal Root (Vermontville/Maple Valley High School) had nine and six set assists, respectively. Defensively, first-year libero Julia Longman (Scotts/Climax-Scotts High School) topped the team with 11 digs. Hall was next with six.
