UOlivet women in sixth-place after first day of MIAA Field Day

HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's track and field team sits in sixth place after the first day of the 2026 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day, hosted by Hope College and at the Gordon Brewer Track.
FOR THE COMETS
- After seven events, the Comets totaled 16 points. Calvin University is first with 78 points, followed by Hope College, 68; Trine University (Ind.), 50; Adrian College, 25; and Albion College, 21. Behind Olivet is Alma College in seventh, 14; and Kalamazoo College, 1.
- Sophomore Lily Russell placed third in the hammer throw with a personal best mark of 143 feet, 6 inches. The mark keeps her at No. 2 all-time at UOlivet. Sophomore Kenzie Gray was ninth but her mark of 126 feet, 9 inches slid her up to No. 8 all-time.
- Sophomore Brooke Jankwietz led a 3-7-8 Comet finish in the shot put. She had a 37 feet, 5-1/4 inch throw, followed by Gray at 36 feet, 4-3/4 inches and freshman Peyton Tennant at 36 feet, 2-3/4 inches.
- Freshman Danah Pearson finished eighth in the long jump. Her mark of 16 feet, 10-1/2 inches is No. 3 all-time in the UOlivet Top 10 list.
- Junior Aubrey Connelly snuck into the finals of the 400-meter hurdles, as she ran the eighth-fastest preliminary time at 1:09.68. The time moves her up to No. 3 on the UOlivet Top 10 list.
UP NEXT
- The MIAA Field Day concludes tomorrow with remaining field event finals at 12 p.m., followed by track finals at 4 p.m.
