Eldridge and Norkowski along with 4x400-meter relay earn 2025 All-MIAA Outdoor Track and Field honors
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – The University of Olivet seniors London Eldridge and Emily Norkowski along with the members of the 4x400-meter relay (Eldridge, Morgan Jeffries, Lily Connelly and Aubrey Connelly) have been named to the 2025 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Outdoor Track & Field teams. All-MIAA honors are based on the student-athletes' performance at the MIAA Field Day. Event winners are first-team selections, while second-place finishers are second-team honorees.
Eldridge repeated as the MIAA champion in the 400-meter hurdles. She first lowered her school record in the preliminaries, and then ran even faster with a winning time of 1:03.79 in the finals.
Eldridge is now a three-time All-MIAA selection. She earned the honor last year outdoors and was a second team selection this winter after placing second in the 60-meter hurdles at the 2025 MIAA Indoor Championships.
"London had an outstanding MIAA Field Day," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "Winning her second title in the 400 hurdles was rewarding, as London had to miss a few weeks of training with minor injuries. She trusts her training and is confident when she races. London and Coach (Darroll) Gatson are still working hard over the next week to see how fast she can run in the hurdles and hopefully qualify for nationals."
Norkowski captured the league title in the heptathlon, scoring 3976 points. She had personal bests in five events – high jump, shot put, 200-meter dash, javelin throw and 800-meter run – over the two days of competition. Norkowski also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles and sixth in the triple jump, and ran a leg of the 4x100-meter relay.
"Emily had the best overall performance she has ever had at the MIAA Heptathlon competition," Lutzke stated. "The heptathlon is perfect for Emily since she does every event well and does not have time to stress about one event. Emily worked hard this year to be able to compete at the level she did this season, and we are proud of what she accomplished this year on the track."
Eldridge, Jeffries, Lily Connelly and Aubrey Connelly finished second in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time, 4:02.03, broke the UOlivet outdoor record by nearly four seconds, as the previous record was 4:05.62. Jeffries and Lily Connelly were also on the 4x100-meter relay.
"The ladies in the 4x400 relay had an outstanding day," stated Lutzke. "It was rewarding to see the four ladies put together the race they ran and finish in second place. Each one of them has made improvements this year. This was the first time all four ran the relay on the same day during the outdoor season. London got us off to a strong start as she usually does and handed off to Morgan, who had a great second leg and handed off to Lily, who opened a bigger lead over third place. Aubrey anchored and maintained second place by holding off a strong, charging Calvin relay."
