Eldridge and Jeffries lead UOlivet women at first day of MIAA Field Day

ALMA, Mich. – Seniors London Eldridge and Morgan Jeffries advanced to the finals in two events to lead The University of Olivet women's track and field team on the first day of the 2025 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Field Day, being held at Bahlke Field.
FOR THE COMETS
- With seven events being scored, the Comets are in sixth with 14 points. Calvin University is first with 108 points, followed by Trine (Ind.) University (71), Hope College (27), Albion College (26) and Adrian College (19). Alma College is seventh with eight points.
- Eldridge will run in the 100- and 400-meter hurdle finals. In the 100 prelims, she ran a personal-best time of 15.60 seconds, and a short time later, Eldridge shattered her own school record in the 400 at 1:04.36.
- Jeffries advanced to the finals in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. She posted the sixth-fastest time in the 200 at 26.26 seconds and seventh-quickest time in the 100 at 12.93 seconds.
- Senior Emily Norkowski ran the second-fastest preliminary time in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.47 seconds.
- The Connelly sisters – senior Lily Connelly and sophomore Aubrey Connelly will compete in the 400-meter dash finals. Lily ran a season-best time of 59.14 seconds to be the fourth-seed, and Aubrey had a personal-best time of 1:00.40, which is fifth-fastest in UOlivet history.
- Freshman Jaelah Sloan placed seventh in the long jump (16 feet and 3 inches).
- Freshman Kelah Hodge finished eighth in the pole vault (9 feet and 4-1/4 inches). The mark is fourth-best in school history.
- Other all-time top 10 marks were turned in by freshman Brooke Jankwietz in the hammer throw (10th, 118 feet and 10 inches) and freshman Morgan Whitten in the shot put (ninth, 33 feet and 2-1/2 inches).
