Track and field teams participate in Aquinas Twilight Invitational
The Olivet College track and field teams participated in the Aquinas College Mini Twilight Invitational at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids. The meet was unscored with eight participating schools as well as several unattached athletes.
The Olivet College track and field teams participated in the Aquinas College Mini Twilight Invitational at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids. The meet was unscored with eight participating schools as well as several unattached athletes.
The best Olivet finish in the running events was by Joe Cleveland (St. Joseph), who clocked-in with a first-place time of 11.64 seconds.
In the field events, the Comets' highest finishers were in the javelin throw. For the women, Amy Brackenwagen (Grand Ledge) took first-place with a 100 foot, 3 inch throw. She edged Calvin's Rachel VanderWiele by three inches. For the men, Blake Walters (Olivet) placed second with a lifetime best toss of 159 feet.
Olivet is back in action next Thursday and Friday, May 1-2, when it competes at the 2008 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Field Day, which is being hosted by Alma College.
