Indoor track and field teams competed at the Jack Skoog Open Meet
The Olivet College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed last night at the Jack Skoog Open Meet at Central Michigan University. It was the last indoor meet of the 2003 season for the Comets.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -- The Olivet College men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed last night at the Jack Skoog Open Meet at Central Michigan University. It was the last indoor meet of the 2003 season for the Comets.
The Lady Comets did not have anyone finish in the top ten; however, junior Shannon McHugh (Manistique High School) had personal best (PB) time in the 200 meter dash (30.70 seconds) and a PB 14’6" leap in the long jump. Freshman Caroline Chard (Union City High School) recorded a PB time of 1:07.94 in the 400 meter dash. Junior Andrea Johnson (Ravenna High School) jumped a PB 15’2.75" in the long jump.
Junior Lindsay Olds (Hartford High School) had a SB in the 800 meter run (2:37.72) and freshman Rachel Strelecki (Sterling/Standish High School) ran a SB in the mile run (6:16.68).
The Fighting Comets were led by sophomore Josh Toussaint (Lansing Sexton High School) with a seventh place finish in the 60 meter dash (7.25 seconds). Freshman Joe Cox (Flint/Carman-Ainsworth High School) was ninth in the shot put (44’3.25") and Chris Cook was 10th in the long jump (18’2.25").
In addition, freshman Jeremy Shepherd (Mattawan High School) had a season-best (SB) time in the mile run (4:59.08) and senior Steve Szokola (Marysville High School) ran a SB time in the 3000 meter run (9:43.19).
