UOlivet opens spring schedule with 5-2 loss to Earlham

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's tennis team fell to Earlham College (Ind.), 7-0, in its first match of the spring season today at the Minges Creek Athletic Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Earlham swept the three doubles flights to earn the first team point. The No. 2 and No. 3 flights were both decided on a 7-4 tiebreaker.
• The Quakers posted wins in the top four singles flights, while the Comets won the bottom three singles flights.

FOR THE COMETS

• At No. 5 singles, freshman Cecily Sawicki recorded a 7-5, 7-5 win.
• At No. 6 singles, freshman Natalie Frederick won 6-3, 6-3.

• Olivet is on the road for a non-conference match at Albion College on Wednesday, February 18. The match from the Ungrodt Tennis Center gets under way at 4 p.m.
