Women's tennis team loses to Hope, 8-1

The Olivet College women's tennis team lost 8-1 to Hope College today in Holland.

The Comets' only win came at the No. 1 singles flight where freshman Caitlin LaValley (Battle Creek/Pennfield) posted a 6-4, 6-2 straight set victory. Olivet led two other singles flights after the first set, but the Hope rebounded to win the second set and then win close 10-8 super-tiebreakers for the third set.

The Comets close out the regular season portion of its schedule Monday afternoon when it hosts Saint Mary's (Ind.) College. First serve inside the MSU Tennis Facility in East Lansing is 3 p.m.
