UOlivet women’s swimming team splits tri-meet at Alma

ALMA, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's swimming team split a tri-meet today inside Alma College's McClure Natatorium. The Comets defeated Manchester (Ind.) University, 111-79, but fell to the host Scots, 162-64.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Bridgette Schroll won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:39.84) and was third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.22).
- Sophomore Sophia Spahr finished second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:00.58), third in the 200-yard backstroke (2:26.84) and fourth in the 50-yard freestyle (29.10).
- Senior Mya Kinnunen placed second in the 200-yard backstroke (2:24.58) and third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.52).
- Freshman Bethany Stowell was the runner-up finisher in the 200-yard individual medley (2:32.40).
- Junior Kelsee Lawson had a pair of third-place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle (12:22.11) and 500-yard freestyle (6:09.18).
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Stowell, Shroll, Kinnunen and freshman Morgan Heitman finished second (2:07.44).
- The 800-yard freestyle quartet of Lawson, Spahr, Shroll and Stowell was second (9:09.58).
UP NEXT
- Olivet is back in action next Friday, January 24, for a tri-meet at Hope College against the Flying Dutch and Davenport University.
