Hartshorn’s goal lifts UOlivet past Rockford, 2-1

ROCKFORD, Ill. – Freshman Nevaeh Hartshorn scored with 47 seconds left to left to help The University of Olivet women's soccer team open the 2025 season with a thrilling 2-1 win over Rockford (Ill.) University today at Sam Greeley Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Comets recorded 12 shots in the first half, with seven being placed on frame.
• The Regents scored their goal just a minute and four seconds into the second half.
• Olivet tallied the tying goal a little more than three minutes later when junior Tressa Meeuwes found the back of the net.
• The Comets netted the game-winner in the final minute. Junior Taylor Facca passed the ball to Hartshorn who scored at the near post from short range.

FOR THE COMETS

• Olivet ended the game with a 27-4 edge in total shots. Fifteen of the shots were placed on-frame.
• Sophomore Ella McCormic tallied a team-leading seven shots, followed by junior Kelsie Finazzo with five.
• Junior Viveca Krolczyk was in goal for the first half.
• Junior Airanna Griecci played the second half in goal and collected two saves.
