Women’s Soccer: Olivet edged by Saint Mary’s, 2-1

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's soccer team lost 2-1 to Saint Mary's (Ind.) College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game this afternoon inside the Cutler Athletic Complex.

• Records: Olivet 0-12-0 overall, 0-6-0 MIAA; Saint Mary's 7-7-1 overall, 1-4-1 MIAA

• The Belles took a 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Mary Kaczynski in the 23rd minute.
• The Comets leveled the score in the 39th minute. Freshman Cameran Roelofs sent a high shot, which clanged off the cross bar and down into the goal.
• The score stayed 1-1 at halftime.
• Saint Mary's scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 51st minute. Off a corner kick, the ball ricocheted off an Olivet player and into the net.

• Olivet tallied five shots.
• Freshman Jennie Underwood recorded three shots, including two on-goal.
• Junior Sarah Willard was in goal for the entire game, faced 24 shots and made 13 saves.

• Olivet travels to play Hope College Saturday, starting at 12 p.m.
