Women’s soccer team loses to Kalamazoo, 2-1

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Kalamazoo College, 2-1, this afternoon at the Olivet Community Schools Stadium.

• The Comets held a 1-0 lead at halftime behind a goal by freshman Alexis Ruegsegger in the 30th minute.
• The Hornets scored a pair of goals in a 72-second span in the second half. The first came in the 58th minute and the second was in the 59th minute.

• Olivet was limited to two shots – Ruegsegger's goal and a shot-on-goal by freshman Elisabeth Perez Pablo.
• Freshman Jordan Hartman played all 90 minutes in goal and made three saves.

• Anna Murphy and Emme DeConinck netted the Hornet goals.
• Sophia Timm-Blow and Olivia Oswald each had an assist.
• Kalamazoo recorded 10 total shots, with three different players recording two shots a piece.
• Cassidy Short earned the win in goal.

• The Comets host Saint Mary's (Ind.) College next Wednesday, October 20. Game time is 8 p.m.
