Women’s soccer team upended at Albion, 6-1

ALBION, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team lost 6-1 to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College tonight under the lights at the Davis Athletic Complex.

• The Britons scored their first goal in the 18th minute on a free kick.
• Albion added two goals in a 45-second span to go up 3-0. The second goal was a penalty kick.
• The Comets netted their first goal in the 33rd minute when junior Mary Mitchell found the back of the net after receiving a pass from freshman Alexis Ruegsegger.
• The Britons pushed their lead to 5-1 at halftime behind goals in the 35th and 43rd minutes.
• Albion closed the scoring with a goal in the 11th minute of the second half.

• Olivet recorded only two shots in the game.
• In addition to Mitchell's shot on her goal, sophomore Kaitlyn Halstead had the other shot.
• Freshman Sarah Willard played the first 53 minutes in goal and collected five saves.
• Freshman Jordan Hartman was in goal for the final 37 minutes and tallied two saves.

• The Britons registered 20 total shots.
• Six different players – Rayna Edwards, Ashlyn Wetzel, Quinn Natschke, Megan Loney, Avery Campbell and Kaitlyn Piontkowsy – netted a goal.
• Anna Morris recorded two assists.
• Edwards finished with a team-leading four shots.
• Romee Natschke was the winning goalkeeper.

• Olivet hosts Adrian College Saturday at 12 p.m. The game will be played on turf field at the Olivet Community Schools Stadium.
