LANSING, Mich. – Playing a competitive game for the first time in three weeks, the Olivet College women’s soccer team beat Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University, 4-2, today at the Hope Soccer Complex.

LANSING, Mich. – Playing a competitive game for the first time in three weeks, the Olivet College women's soccer team beat Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University, 4-2, today at the Hope Soccer Complex.

Records: Mount St. Joseph 3-6 overall, Olivet 1-2 overall
- The Comets led 3-0 at halftime behind goals by senior Kate Mcelhone in the 14th minute, senior Kiley Schneck in the 17th minute and sophomore Ella Jeske in the 32nd minute. Schneck earned an assist on Mcelhone's gola and freshman Elisabeth Perez Pablo was credited with an assist on Jeske's goal.
- The Lions made the score 3-1 on a goal by Alexa Simpson in the seventh minute of the second half.
- Olivet got that goal back in the 70th minute when Perez Pablo netted her first collegiate goal, with junior Mary Mitchell picking-up the assist on the tally.
- Mariah Briggs capped the scoring for Mount St. Joseph with a goal with around nine minutes remaining in the game.
- Olivet was out-shot 17-11 in the contest.
- Jeske, Mitchell and Perez Pablo each recorded two shots. Both of Perez Pablo's were on-frame.
- Freshman Jordan Hartman earned the win in goal. She made eight saves.
- Poetrie Bedgood and Hannah Surber registered four shots apiece.
- Chloe Boehl was the losing keeper. She played all 90 minutes and had two saves.
- The Comets play their first Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest next Tuesday, September 28, at Calvin University. Game time is 7 p.m.
