Women’s soccer team shutout by Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team was shutout by Aquinas College, 7-0, today at the AQ Athletic Field in Grand Rapids.

  • The Saints led 5-0 at halftime and added two more goals in the second half for the 7-0 final.

  • Olivet was held to five total shots, including two for junior Grace White. Both of her shots were placed on-goal.
  • Three other players each had one shot.
  • Junior Samantha Gifford suffered the loss in goal. She played the first 41 minutes, 13 seconds. Sophomore Mekenzie Lamb finished the game in net and collected five saves.

  • Hannah Crum scored three goals on five shots.
  • Danni Mckenzie also scored three goals on a team-leading six shots.
  • The seventh goal was by Jenna Konwerski.
  • Three keepers combined for the shutout, with Braeleigh McCoy earning the win.

  • Olivet is idle until Tuesday, Oct. 1, when it opens Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play with a 4 p.m. game at Adrian College.
