Krupp selected MIAA Wrestler of the Week

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The University of Olivet senior Kody Krupp has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Wrestler of the Week.

Krupp posted a 4-0 record to capture the 197-pound title at the Trine Invitational. He began the day by pinning Jose Bethel from Indiana Tech at 1:40, followed by a 16-0 technical fall over Austin George from Southwestern Michigan College and pinned regionally-ranked Aidan Belgiorno from Heidelberg (Ohio) University at 5:15. In the championship match, Krupp defeated teammate Jack Ward, 9-2.

"Kody was incredibly fun to watch during a very dominate performance," said Olivet head coach Brandon Brissette. "His preparation for the tournament was spot on. He then let it fly with passion and high effort which led to scoring in bunches and finding opportunities to get the fall! This version of Kody is the one we hope to see during the remainder of his senior campaign."

The Comets are back in action Sunday at the Albion College Invitational.
