Women’s golf team wins Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament

MARSHALL, Mich. – The Olivet College women's golf team won the 2020 Kyle Campbell Memorial Tournament, hosted by the Comets at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.

Par / Yardage: 72 / 5,814 yards

• The Comets recorded a 344 team score, which was four strokes better than runner-up Trine (Ind.) University. Cleary University took third at 349, followed by Calvin University, 364; and Adrian College, 367.
• Chandler Sjoerdsma from Calvin was the medalist with an 80.

• With an 84 (41-43), senior Crystal Lettinga tied for fifth-place in the player standings to land a spot on the all-tournament team.
• Freshman Rayna Honsowitz finished one stroke behind with an 85 (42-43).
• Junior Rachel Webb carded a career-best 86 (43-43). She tied for first in par 5 scoring, as she was one over par on the four par 5 holes. On the par 5, No. 9, Webb had a birdie.
• Junior Logan McLane was next with an 89 (44-45). She shared first in par 3 scoring, as she played even par on the four par 3 holes. On one of them, No. 12, McLane made a birdie.
• Sophomore Aynslee Myer completed her 18 holes in 92 (43-49) strokes.

• The Comets are back in action next Wednesday, September 16, when they play in the Trine University Invitational at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
