Olivet College’s Damico selected as MIAA Golfer of the Week
Olivet College senior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women’s Golfer of the Week. She is being named the Golfer of the Week for the fifth time in her career.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College senior Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golfer of the Week. She is being named the Golfer of the Week for the fifth time in her career.
Damico shot rounds of 74 and 76 in helping Olivet finish in second-place at the 2013 O.C. Labor Day Tee-Off Tournament at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall. She edged teammate Adrienne Plourde and Olivia Lugar, a returning first-team WGCA All-American from Washington University in St. Louis, by one stroke with a two-round total of 150 strokes. The 150 total ties for the second-best 36-hole individual score in school history.
The Comets will host the 2013 O.C. Fall Invitational Friday and Saturday at The Medalist Golf Club. The 18-team tournament gets under way Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
