Four women’s golfers selected to WGCA All-American Scholar Team
Four Olivet College women’s golfers -- Brooke Kastamo, Casey Lamp, Kirstin Langer and Adrienne Plourde have been selected to the 2012-13 National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
OLIVET, Mich. -- Four Olivet College women's golfers -- Brooke Kastamo (Howell/Hartland), Casey Lamp (Kalamazoo/Hackett Catholic), Kirstin Langer (Battle Creek/Pennfield) and Adrienne Plourde (Redford/Thurston) have been selected to the 2012-13 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team. Plourde will be a senior on the team in 2013-14, while Kastamo, Lamp and Langer will be sophomores. Plourde has earned the honor for three straight years.
The criteria for selection is a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average and the student-athlete must have competed in 66 percent of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds.
Kastamo is an exercise science major, Lamp is majoring in chemistry, Langer is a biology major and Plourde is a sports and recreation major. The quartet helped the Comets win the 2012 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship and finish in 13th-place at the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championships. Plourde is a two-time first-team All-MIAA selection. Kastamo and Lang earned second-team All-MIAA honors in 2012.
