Olivet College’s Damico earns WGCA All-American and All-Region honors
Olivet College junior Theresa Damico was named to the 2013 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III All-American honorable mention team, as announced last Wednesday, May 15, at the WGCA Banquet in Destin, Fla. In addition, Damico was named to the 2013 WGCA All-Great Lakes Region team.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College junior Theresa Damico was named to the 2013 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III All-American honorable mention team, as announced last Wednesday, May 15, at the WGCA Banquet in Destin, Fla. In addition, Damico was named to the 2013 WGCA All-Great Lakes Region team.
Damico ends the year ranked No. 29 among NCAA Division III golfers with an 80.3 scoring average over 26 total rounds. Sixteen of her rounds were at 81or below. Damico, the 2012 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Most Valuable Golfer, posted an even par 72 for her lowest round of the year, which ties for the third-lowest round in school history.
The WGCA, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The NGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
