Damico earns MIAA Golfer of the Week honors
Olivet College sophomore Theresa Damico has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for women’s golf.
OLIVET, Mich. – Olivet College sophomore Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for women's golf.
Damico shot a career-best 74 and earned medalist honors, leading the Comets to a first-place at the second MIAA Jamboree Sept. 21 at the Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck. The 74 was the lowest score shot so far in league play this fall. She followed that performance with a 79 to earn All-Tournament honors at the DePauw (Ind.) University Small College Classic Sept. 24.
Olivet sits in second-place in the league seasonal standings and will play the final four MIAA rounds over the next two weeks. The next MIAA Jamboree is Thursday at The Medalist Golf Club and another one Saturday at the Milham Park Golf Course in Kalamazoo. The final two rounds will take place next Friday and Saturday, Oct. 7-8, at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.
