Women’s golf team is runner-up at own invitational
The women’s golf team finished in second-place at its own invitational today at The Medalist Golf Club.
MARSHALL, Mich. -- The Olivet College women's golf team finished in second-place at its own invitational today at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
The Comets carded a two-round total of 687 strokes (342-345) to trail Wheaton (Ill.) College by just one stroke. Otterbein (Ohio) University was third at 696, followed by Saint Francis (Ind.), 697; Hope, 704; Madonna, 719; Trine, 730; Albion, 740; Aquinas, 745; Calvin, 786; Rochester, 809; and Kalamazoo, 895. Wheaton's Casi Blanton was the tournament medalist with a 159.
Senior Amber Conrad (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) tied for third in the player standings with a two-round total of 167 (79-88) strokes. Junior Lauren Campbell (Fenton) was part of a tie for 10th-place at 170 (87-83). Freshman Theresa Damico (White Lake/Lakeland) had back-to-back 87s for a 174. Senior Abby Wheeler (Grayling) had a two-round total of 178 (91-87) strokes. Freshman Adrienne Jones (Redford/Thurston) completed her two rounds in 183 total strokes.
Olivet returns to The Medalist on Wednesday for the third Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association jamboree at 1 p.m.
