Lady golfers capture team title at Defiance (Ohio) College Invitational

The Olivet College women's golf team captured the team title today at the Defiance (Ohio) College Invitational at the Kettenring Country Club in Defiance, Ohio.

The Lady Comets carded a team score of 403 strokes to finish ahead of five other teams. Malone (Ohio) College was second at 424.

Leading the way for Olivet was freshman Stephanie Nicolai (Shelbyville/Wayland Union High School) with a 95. She was followed by freshman Kristy Latimer (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) with a 97, freshman Lindsey Struble (Battle Creek/Harper Creek High School) with a 104, sophomore Wendy Mickelwait (Middleville/ Thornapple Kellogg High School) with a 107, sophomore Katie Edick (Charlotte High School) with a 110 and freshman Amanda London (Marshall High School) with a 113.

The Comets are idle until Sunday-Monday, Oct. 5-6, when they participate in the Northern Illinois University Invitational at the Whisper Creek Golf Club in Huntley, Ill.
