GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team lost 69-49 to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) ally Calvin University tonight at Van Noord Arena.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter was close, as there were four lead changes and four tied scores. The Knights led by four points before a basket by freshman Ava Lord made the score 14-12 at the end of the first stanza. Calvin extended its lead to seven points, 25-18, at the 4:35 mark of the second period. Freshman Reese Gohsman drained a three-pointer before a Knight basket made the score 27-21 at halftime. Lord connected on a three-pointer to begin the third quarter to cut the Comet deficit in half. Olivet did not get any closer for the rest of the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Lord scored a team-high 14 points. She also had three steals and four assists.
- Gohsman contributed 11 points.
- Senior Kinsley Hatfield grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.
UP NEXT
- The Comets welcome the Hope College Flying Dutch to the Cutler Event Center on Saturday for a MIAA contest, starting at 3 p.m.
