UOlivet loses to Hanover, 70-51, in game one at Trine Holiday Tournament

ANGOLA, Ind. – The University of Olivet women's basketball team lost 70-51 to Hanover (Ind.) College this afternoon in its first game at the Croxton and Roe Holiday Tournament. Trine (Ind.) University is hosting the tournament at the MTI Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Comets made the first basket of the game, the Panthers went on an 11-0 run over the next two minutes. Olivet closed the gap to seven points twice before Hanover stretched its lead to 12 points. The Panthers settled for a 10-point lead, 23-13, to begin the second stanza.
- The Comets began the second quarter with a 10-2 run to trim its deficit down to two points, 25-23 at the 5:34 mark. Hanover responded with an 8-0 spurt to push its lead back to double digits, 33-23. The Panthers saw their lead increase to 12 points twice before leading by 10 points, 39-29, at halftime. The smallest lead for Hanover over the final two quarters was seven points, 41-34.
FOR THE COMETS
- Freshman Ava Lord paced Olivet with 16 points.
- Junior Kaylee Bush and senior Kinsley Hatfield each scored 10 points.
- Bush grabbed seven rebounds.
- Freshman Madelyn Burdis had four steals.
